About Us

VALDOR pet dog training club was founded in 1989 and we have enjoyed success in dog training since. Our instructors are volunteers and all money raised, once hall expenses have been settled, is donated to local charities.

Our training is reward based and we will help you to teach your dog good manners, sociability and basic obedience so that he is a happy, relaxed and docile member of both your family and society.

We run classes on a Wednesday afternoon (1pm) and a Thursday evening (7.30pm) at Pratts Bottom Village Hall, which is located between Bromley and Sevenoaks. You would be very welcome to come along ten minutes before the start of the classes to observe a lesson and see how we train. Please feel free to bring your dog with you and join us all for a cuppa! We hope to see you soon.

Our beginners’ course focuses on basic obedience.  You will learn to teach your dog to sit, lie down, leave, stay and come. We focus on socialising your dog so he will learn to mix happily with other dogs, without being a nuisance or lunging out at others passing by. You will learn to teach your dog good manners, such as how to walk through a gate or door without him barging past you.

As well as the business of obedience training, we also teach through play time which all the dogs love. They will be able to enjoy small jumps, tunnels, retrieves and hide and seek. We hope to teach you responsible dog ownership so that, at the end of the course, you will have a well mannered dog who will be a credit, and not an embarrassment, to you.

All our instructors are experienced dog owners.  In general, two instructors will teach each class. We also have assistant instructors who help out where necessary, or if individual attention is required. Our methods are very gentle.  We do not use or allow the old fashioned choke chain collars or any harsh handling.
